Hello. My name is Mary Sheppard, and I am an American expat mum and yoga teacher living abroad in London. I’ve been teaching yoga since 2017. I am a former primary school teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching children. I’ve taught Nursery, Primary and children with Special needs. I teach yoga and mindfulness practices within my Hampstead and surrounding areas.

I’m Yoga Alliance certified 500 hr RYT in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Elemental Yin, Yin and Chakra meditation, Mandala Vinyasa, Rainbow Kids and Family yoga, and Rainbow Partner yoga.

I teach yoga and mindfulness to support the community I live in. You can find me teaching at Hampstead Community Centre, BSMT 13 Hampstead yoga studio, and in nurseries and primary schools. Since Covid-19, I’ve become experienced at teaching groups via zoom and as of all ages, and private clients via zoom.

I truly believe yoga is for everyone! My classes are uplifting and positive. My yoga sequences are carefully crafted for my students to feel nourished in mind, breath, and body. All my classes are accessible for everyone- from beginners to advanced practitioners. Modifications and options will be given to students to suit their personal practice.

My yoga classes include much more than just physical postures. I carefully select pranayama (breath work), mudras, and chakra meditation techniques to guide you to connect to the body, quiet the mind, and move the focus inward.

I look forward to practicing and sharing space with you and being part of your yoga journey.

Mary is a dedicated, knowledgeable and enthusiastic yoga teacher who always has a smile on her face. Her classes have an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. As a dentist, I put a lot of strain on my back due to my operating posture. My core strength and flexibility have improved greatly since I started with Mary’s yoga classes. I can’t recommend Mary’s classes enough, she is truly wonderful.
